He is a pioneer in developing initiatives to improve Management and Governance in the public sector.
He started to promote good governance in the public sector while he was the Chairman of KalDer both by organizing conferences and establishing quality awards for public sector. Later, as a Board Member of TESEV, he was instrumental in developing methodologies for good governance. In 2014, he established the Argüden Governance Academy to provide education programs and develop methodologies to improve quality of governance in public sector at local and national levels. He contributed to incorporating good governance in National Development Plans.
As the board member responsible for TESEV’s Good Governance Program, lead the organization to address key governance issues in Türkiye. Especially, the “Good Governance for Quality of Life” project was accepted by the World Bank, UNDP, and EU as a world class benchmark for good governance at the local government level. Tools and processes established to ensure that public funds are utilized according to strategic priorities and plans established with a participatory process have been published in “Good Governance Handbook.”
Argüden Governance Academy develops education programs, communication activities and publications:

- Enhance trust in the public sector through openness and
evidence-based policy-making - Help the development of future public sector leaders
- Foster inclusive and effective civic participation in decision-making and
improve accountability at the local, national, and global level
to improve quality of life.
On February 16th, Good Governance Day, Chairman of Global Compact Türkiye Ahmet Dördüncü expressed his appreciation to Dr. Argüden as the first name that comes to mind in governance.
